Transparent, data-driven campaigns that turn searches into phone calls, and phone calls into loyal clients.
You can’t outspend the corporate groups. But with Digital Empathy, you don’t have to.
Google makes it easy to set up ads, but it’s deceivingly difficult to run and track them well. The complexity lives in the details: what to bid on, what to block, and above all, how ads are affecting your practice’s bottom line.
A conversation about your market, your goals, and whether ads are a good fit for your practice. If they’re not, we’ll say so.
Your campaigns go live. The first 30 days are for testing, not judging: we’re finding what your market responds to.
Biweekly tuning, with budget flowing to what’s working and away from what isn’t. And this is where matchback comes in: we measure against your actual practice data to show you exactly what’s working and where your dollars are going.
Monthly one-on-one calls with your analyst, if you want them, to review results, tweak strategy, and align on new initiatives as your goals change.
We report results the way we track them: matched against the practice’s own records, new clients only.

Derek came to marketing by way of science, with a B.S. with a concentration in chemistry from the University of Nevada, Reno. This background comes through in his approach to ads: form a hypothesis, test it, measure what actually happened, then adjust. That critical analysis is the engine behind Digital Empathy’s Google Ads strategy, refined over nearly a decade of managing campaigns for veterinary practices.
“Since working with Digital Empathy, the amount of new clients we are receiving from google ads and our website has grown significantly. We have also had our best month since we opened.”
Prices vary according to your market, so the honest answer is “it depends.” Cost per click can range anywhere from $3 to $5, with calls around $20 to $30, and a new client costing roughly $80 to $100 in ad spend. Digital Empathy’s management fee is $299 a month, and a typical general practice ad budget starts around $750 a month.
For most practices, yes, especially if you’re looking to acquire new clients. While SEO or other forms of marketing can take months to see results, ads are a “pay to play” tactic that immediately showcase your practice at the top of relevant searches to pet owners. In our discovery phase, we’ll talk with you about your practice’s goals so we can create a strategy that’s tailored to you.
Local Service Ads are Google’s pay-per-call ad format that has limited custom targeting settings the way regular Google Ads do. Because there are fewer tweaks we can make to these ads, we always validate their value through our Matchback process—evaluating results against your PIMS data. While we run Local Service Ads for some clients with good results, we don’t recommend them for every practice. We’ll talk about your goals, review ads performance, and discuss whether Local Service Ads would be a good fit for your practice.
Yes, but it’s important to know that those leads cost more, $60 to $200 each, because the procedure is worth thousands. Two things are critical when running high-value service ads: our matchback process, so we can evaluate if ads are working, and in-depth content on your website about the services to help pet owners choose your practice for their pet.
We help you measure performance in three ways: a custom dashboard with your numbers, monthly strategy calls if you want them, and our matchback process that tracks ad spend to revenue in your own PIMS system. If we’re not seeing good results, we’ll share why and what our plan is to adjust.
Google’s account teams often call and email veterinary practices to encourage more ad spend. Before changing anything (and even if you’re not a current client!), please get in touch with us. Our team will help you evaluate the best next steps for your practice.
